Our Work
Explore some of the work we’re doing to bring people together to tackle complex challenges and create the conditions for change. From collaborative projects and learning opportunities to sector-wide conversations, each initiative creates space to connect ideas, build relationships, and move work forward.

Ethnocultural Mental Health
Converge is convening ethnocultural leaders from across Alberta to understand how mental health supports are delivered within ethnocultural communities. These community-based supports are effective but often operate without stable funding or recognition as part of mental health infrastructure. Funded by ATB, this project explores the strengths of this “shadow system”, what gaps in the mainstream system ethnocultural communities are filling, and how system actors and funders can better recognize, support, and learn from community.

Across Canada, extraordinary people are working every day to improve mental health. Mental health organizations, philanthropy, policymakers, aligned networks, the healthcare sector, researchers, Indigenous communities, people with lived and living expertise, and private sector and community organizations are all making important contributions.
Yet the challenges continue to grow more complex.
Too often, we’re working alongside one another instead of with one another. We revisit the same conversations, tackle similar problems in different places and miss opportunities to build on what’s already working.
Knowledge stays in one place. Strong ideas struggle to travel. People and communities experience the gaps between systems.
The challenges are shared. The work is often disconnected.
Converge exists to help change that.
